Contemporary abstract painting from Brisbane
Noreen Jawad paints the Australian landscape without painting it directly. The greens of subtropical forest, the blues along the coast, the ochre of the inland — the colour arrives first, and the work is built outward from there.
She came to painting in 2021 and holds a Diploma of Visual Arts from TAFE Queensland. The work moves between mediums and techniques, and into pottery, where the same colour instincts take on texture and form.
“Blush Reverie” explores the gentle harmony between colour and calm. The soft blush tones evoke warmth and quiet introspection, while layered textures create depth and emotional stillness.
